Well hi welcome to my little blog. Just my little corner of craftiness, sewing, and refashioning. I am also a newly gluten free eater so you have a little bit of recipes mixed in here.

Day 54:Rice thins, cracker review

Ok I am working away! And editing new pictures. Today is another gluten free post, this has been fun even though I am not a foodie! Monday should be a good post! :)

Found these, thought I would give it a go! They are made up of all rice!

Their shapes cracked me up. They remind me of the bread waifers I get when I go to Church on Sundays (I'm Catholic, I'm sure other Catholics would agree).

Paired with hummus, they are excellent and light and tasty. Love them! These are also a win! I would definitely buy again. :) BTW they also come in garlic flavor! They are good too!

Day 53:Thai Noodles- GF review

It is day 53 people! Wow. Ok I finally found my camera cord last night. That means this weekend I can upload them and get some real posts going! Also I have some time to craft and sew! Yeah!

Found these in the store. Thought I would give them a try.

They cook just like ramen noodles (which I CAN NOT EAT. I feel like I am about to explode)!

Done!

They will continue to expand and absorb the water when you are done if you let them sit. I actually ate them the next day for lunch (we had a surprise dinner with a friend) but they were great!

Taste was fabulous. No issues with texture. Easy to cook. Would definitely buy again. :)

Day 52: Tribal Fusion Choreography DVD Review

I recently used this DVD as a basis for my students.

I mostly did only the choreography section. There is a warm up and cool down section but I did not really watch it. Here are some screen shots from the DVD

Ok so here are the pros of this DVD.

  1. The choreography is really cute. There is a lot of room to add your own style to it
  2. Her final performance is filmed in an old castle- totally awesome!
  3. The videography is good, no weird close ups. She is dancing in front of a mirror. You can see all of her
  4. She does the choreo and then walks through it
  5. This is a great choreography for a Rennaissance Fair.
Here are the cons of the DVD
  1. There are absolutey NO counts in any of the combos. NONE. There are a lot of AND 8 sort of deals. Something that would seriously help you out when you perform the dance by yourself. If you are a counter, this will take you longer to get.
  2. There are times bad  video editing. There are a few spots that she doesn't finish her sentence.
  3. There is some different terminology. Some of her moves she calls different each time. And at times it is hard to tell exactly what she is doing. I changed several things because of this.
  4. She does not always dance what she teaches. There are several parts she forgets to tell you to do. Some parts of combos are missing.
Overall I like this DVD. I am happy I purchased it from Amazon. For more of my 90 days of blogging (from 60!) click here.

Day 51: Gluten free ice cream cone review

Yesterday I announced I am going to 90 days of blogging. Because I am officially crazy. I did count my projects and reviews and I am positive I can do it! Now I must truly put my sewing pedal to the metal! Today is a gluten free review as I try and still (yes still) find my camera cord.

I love ice cream. I don't eat it all that much but when I do I like to eat it with a cone. Cones are on the NO-NO list for gluten people. Sigh.....

Then I found these at the store! Giddy!

The cones looked normal....

Add ice cream...

Eat..... Wow tasty! They taste like normal ice cream cones. Even boyfriend approves! These are definitely a WIN and I could purchase them again! The price isn't bad. It is just something I would not buy on a regular occasion. I don't need to eat ice cream every night. But would be perfect for  a party! :)

Ladies and Gentlemen we interupt these 60 days of blogging....

Well some of you may realize that I have not talked much about the move in much of my posts. Actually there has been zero posting about it. No the question is why?

Well I can't get into details but things have been slow to come with the paperwork aspect. Things are now in motion but it just took some time. I am still moving but just not at the end of September. It looks like an end of October move. I am happy because I get to enjoy more time with my friends and I have more time to toss things before I pack. I am really trying to move less items.

So now what to do about the 60 days because well I have not made it to DC yet.... I think I have totally lost my marbles but I am going to go for 90! So the posts will keep a coming! Stay tuned! :)
Yes I am crazy but hey... why not?! I have gone this far what is a few more days.... right?? Must finish projects! And find my camera cord.

Wish me luck! :)

Day 50: Flowered Spaghetti Dress Refashion

Found this dress one day. It was lovely, just slightly too big, but it looked like it had never been worn! The fabric quality was wonderful.

The first thing that needed to be done was the straps were way too big and needed to be shortened. I opened up the seam just slightly and pulled out the strap. It took me several tries but I found where I wanted it to be (about 3-4 inches from where it was!). Repeat on the other side.

The dress was already looking better. There was minimal left to take in on the sides so I opted not to do so. I would have to undo a lot of seams and lining in order to make this dress fit more. I decided it was not worth the effort. I did decide though, I could take off some of the bottom. I cut off the bottom hem.

Then I ran the bottom through my serger to finish the edges and prevent it from fraying. I folded it up an inch and ironed/pinned down. Sew!

Done. Paired it with another belt b/c I like to show the waist. And here is the dress! Happy! If I paired it with a cardigan it would still be work appropriate!

Day 49: Plaid skirt refashion

It all started off like this... A bad 80s suit.
I love plaid but I don't love that much plaid. I actually gave the jacket back to goodwill, it barely fit and would take too long to fix it and I don't have that much time. I just wanted the skirt.

First I marked where I wanted the hem to go for the skirt with some chalk. Cut off.

I finished the edges with my serger and then folded it up about 1/2 an inche and ironed/pinned down. Sew with the sewing machine. Done!

Here is my new skirt! Will be great in the winter time! And it has pockets. I love pockets. First tried it with a longer more form fitting shirt.

Eh wasn't a fan. Tried it with a tuck in shirt to show off the high waist. A little bit better. I am much more balanced out...

I have to work with this one b/c it makes me look curvy. I am still debating on whether I should toss the pocket (I know sadness) and take it in to slim it down. Ongoing debate! I am leaning towards removing the pockets. I definitely need to iron this skirt!
