Blue satin bow top, Butterick 5784

Got my July project done. Just lazy to take a picture in it. Let me tell you it wrinkles like it is nobodies business. I iron it and then it wrinkles. LOL it is a never ending battle. Yes the fabric is from my cousin's Tiffany's themed bridal shower. I snagged some, hee hee!

Easy sew really. It is nice to have that sometimes. Especially after some of these battles recently. Fit was right on target! I sewed a medium. No changes were made and it looks like it was supposed to- only issue was tying that bow. It seems a bit bulky to me.

Can't beat my cheesy, tired, goofy grin sometimes. :)

Satin Jones New York Refashion- Iron Craft Sleep

I found this lovely dress one day and the color is gorgeous. However once I put it on, it was sort of bleh. I mean it fit well. But...

It is sort of a weird length. And really what am I going to wear this to? Really? And there was some sort of sheerness to the bust. But I think this would make a great PH! And oh! This Iron Craft Challenge is sleep! Ding I got my project! :) Let's refashion this into a Nightie!

I decided to use this pattern from Vogue... V8888. 

I used the shorts pattern to make a pair of short shorts from the bottom part of the dress. 

It was a really easy pattern to sew. I did not sew the lace like the pattern calls for. After the shorts where done then I just hemmed the bottom of the top. And poof! I have a new cute PJ!

Much more appropriate for sleep! I am happy that I was able to participate in the iron craft!

Day 78: Burned Satin Flowers

Another fabric flower post! This project all started out with some harem pants I made many, many years ago but blew out the inseam at a Rennaisance Faire. Luckily I was wearing a skirt over top. No one saw a thing but the expression on my face when it happened. they were beyond repair and decided to use the scraps to make flowers.

These are very easy to make and if you have any sort of pyro inkling, this is the project for you! First cut circles from the satin at various sizes and then quickly burn with a lighter.

Next just glue the layers together going from large to small. 

I wanted something for the center so I added a big black bead I had. Done! 

Then simply I added the aligator clips and the flowers were ready. This is a great scrap busting project.

I really like this project. I have done some before with black but these are thicker. I like them thicker. For more of my 90 days of blogging click here.
