Probiotic cookie review: gluten free

I found these cookies and thought I would give them a try....

Short story. They are a big fat NO. They did not taste well and then they gave me a stomachache. I do not recommend buying.

That is about all I can say about this cookies!

Pink Paisley Hi Lo Skirt

Again it started with some fabric I bough on clearance that I thought was so pretty but not a lot to do a lot of things with.... But when I saw this pattern, the light turned on and I had just enough fabric to make this skirt! Simplicity 1695. Well that is if I cut it smaller than my normal size.... so I cut a 8. But I cut the waistband and the liner (yay the pattern had a liner!!!! Unlike some other patterns!) at my normal size. :)

The liner I used tho did not give so I had to improvise but adding a gore (a triangle to non sewers to give it some wearing ease- meaning I could walk in it! I had a scrap of the lining leftover and I just use all of it to make a triangle. So no measuring or math. I can't handle any more math and thinking than I already do!

Sew in the skirt...

I added the waistband- easy. Then I serged the hems of the skirts

Done! Yay and it fits! And its is not bulky. My only problem was on my serger I needed to change the differential feed b/c I got a ruffling on the chiffon. Luckily the ruffling was pretty even and no big deal. 

Would I sew this skirt again? Yes, it was easy to sew and I would make sure that the liner had enough ease again but now I know! :) 

Yay! Man I am tearing up the patterns this year! yay!!

Pink Maxi Skirt

FYI this is a big skirt! I saw this pattern from McCalls and thought it would be fun to make!

I cut my normal size for patterns (12) and I had gotten this great inexpensive pink t-shirt material. I did not realize it was not wide enough (or it shrunk in the wash!!!) and it has a lot of stretch. The fabric also grabbed so I had to cut piece by piece singly-no cutting on the fold! It was impossible to square up! I gave up!

So I was a few inches sort :( Like almost 6). Instead of going to the store and buying more I cheated and sewed and extendor. I did not know how I was going to like the actual skirt. 

The instructions were easy to follow. The skirt is heavy and stretchy. I may need to make some modifications later. And wow it is full. I need to shorten since I did not hem the bottom. Oh yeah I used my walking foot to sew the entire skirt-which is a pain and took me longer but the seams look so nice. 

Like the model. LOL I could do a high kick in this skirt. 

It is hard to say if I had a less stretchy fabric if cutting a smaller size would have worked better. The skirt did appear to grow after I sewed it. I do love it. I added a yellow short sleeved cardigan and wore it out shopping on sunday. Oddly I got a few compliments. I washed and dried it again-maybe it will shrink? LOL But I do recommend the skirt pattern. I felt very feminine in it. Love the pink color!!! :)

Amy's Gluten Free Pizza Review

I stumbled upon this pizza at Giant the other weekend and it was on sale and I thought I would give it a try. I miss pizza, still. Yes still.

Pretty easy to follow, into the oven done in 10 minutes. :)

There did appear to be some water in the center of the pizza, no idea. BUTTTTT..... the crust was amazing. The pizza was super good! I definitely recommend! Fluffy! Haven't had a fluffy crust pizza in a long time!

My big bean bag chair

I have a lot of this fabric. It is actually curtains! And I have a lot of it! Thought I would make a super bean bag chair!

I used this Burda Pattern 8373.

It uses a lot of fabric! I had just enough! Here is me cutting I had to do it on the ground just for the sheer size.

Next I sewed it- super easy and fast! Now to fill it. I used some pillows I don't need anymore

Ok here is what I currently have. Now I need beans. I will add-it is super comfy I even caught the cat napping in it.

I got 2 more boxes of fill from amazon and added. FYI a dryer sheet will help those last bit of beans that have static cling. :)

Done! Love the new chair. Love the fact it has a high back! :) And I used up a lot of fabric!!!

I have even rearranged the inside and fallen comfortably asleep. It was wonderful. Big hit in my house!

Iron Craft '13 #9- Button necklace

This challenge for iron craft was notion. To make a craft with something you would find on the notion wall. Easy I have plenty of notions. Time to craft! I have a ton of buttons! They have just seemed to collect over the years. So I wanted to use my buttons up!

I divided them up into gold buttons which I don't care for and then colors (but no black, white, cream, brown).. First with the gold... I wanted to make a button bib necklace. I arranged my buttons in a way that would work and be sort of balanced while it was on a piece of black felt.

Next I both glued and sewed on the buttons. the ones with holes I sewed on while the raised ones had to be glued. I had initially tried to just sew them but it did not work well when the bib was upright-they hung weird. I glued between buttons to give the necklace a little bit more stability.

I cut away the backing so you couldn't see the felt. It felt (no pun intended!) like it still needed more stability so I added another piece of black felt. again cut away.

Now it is time to back it a little bit more for stabilitty. Fun with hot glue!! Yeah!

Now it is time to make it a necklace. I had to dig b/c my craft closet was a bit messy.

Warning this didn't work b/c I had too much glue on the opposite site as you can see in the next few pictures...

So I decided to glue black chain to one side and then a loop to the opposite side. I had to tweak the length to where I wanted it to lay on my chest.

I backed it yet again (now 3rd layer!) with another piece of black felt. Cut away.

Now here is my finished necklace! Yay!! Here's to another project! I actually really like it b/c I am not a fan of gold normally. But I do like this necklace!

I have full intentions of using the multiple color buttons for maybe a headband or something but I will have to wait until a little bit later. I ran out of black elastic to make another project for this challenge!
