Pink Pearl and Ribbon Necklace

I started this project one day after seeing some pins on pinterest. It looked easy enough! So I grabbed pink ribbon that I have excess of with pink pearls, thread and of course thread heaven. I love that stuff!

Basically I knotted the ribbon and thread (not together). I inserted the needle through the knot to hide the knot of the thread. Add a bead. Then I went through the ribbon. Add a bead. Then I wrapped and went through the ribbon going the opposite direction. Repeat Repeat Repeat. I made 3 ribbons of beads at 3 different lengths. I had just enough.

Now to combine them... I used these rings from a necklace I never wore and I think was part of the beader's stash I purchased. I cut between the big circles. I will save the oval ones for later.

I started with the short string and tied a knot on the ring. Repeat other side. Then add the rest of the bead strings.

I burned the ribbon to prevent it from fraying

But then added glue too. Too afraid. yes I made another version... stay tuned!

Then I grabbed some jump rings and chain.

I wanted the necklace to sit sort of low, so I used long chain. 2 jump rings per chain on each side with a lobster claw. Yay.

Done!

I love the pink! Yay.

White pearl sweater refashion

Lo... before I cute sweater but it had some weird holes on the top of it.

Actually the previous owner didn't like it either and when I turned it inside out there was a safety pin closing the bottom portion up.

If I took it out it was a bad attempt at key holes. I decided to close it up and get rid of the big beads. 

I pinned the parts together after I removed the pearl buttons. 

Here it is done. But.... it looks a little off and I decided I missed some pearls. 

So I started to add them back using the existing pattern in the knit. 

Done!!

I love my new sweater now! It looks much more cohesive. 

I didn't really loose much sewing the parts together. Yay now I have a new sweater. I am counting down the day to spring warmness.....

Snowmen ornaments part 2- buttons and pearls

I had these beads that came from a few necklaces. Really they are buttons. They are very big and kind of tacky for a lot of projects. They have been sitting in my box for a while. Then it hit me. 

I sorted them via color and type. I didn't use the gold ones. I'll save those for later!

I used all of these silver/clear buttons. They have 2 holes right on the bottom.

And using these pearl beads I thought would make for a cool snowman.

Place the bead into the center. Nice. 

Putting them together they look like snowmen! Yay!

Now to glue onto the grosgrain ribbon.

I glued in between each bead because of the size and weight they bent when they were hanging. 

Now for scarves. I had this beautiful ribbon. 

Here is the end product on a tree.

I think they are lovely as is and I don't want to add anything else. I still can't believe Christmas is over. I have a few more posts of Christmas projects. :)

Day 9: Long Pearl Necklace

Day 9! Today is a jewelry project. I have a ton of pearls in my bead box. I decided to make a long necklace with them. I have been seeing them a lot at Department stores and online. So I made my own with some string and some clasps!

Here it is on.

Here it is on with the total outfit and a non-messed up shirt ruffle...

What I would like to draw to your attention is the ruffle skirt I wore with my outfit. This was supposed to be a "top" or a "dress" from forever 21. I never seem to get it to work with things until one day I put it on as a skirt. Luckily it stretches enough to fit my backside and hips and actually makes the perfect length skirt. Plus it has about the same tone as my necklace so they complement each other well.
