Well hi welcome to my little blog. Just my little corner of craftiness, sewing, and refashioning. I am also a newly gluten free eater so you have a little bit of recipes mixed in here.

Muse dress pattern from Butterick (FAIL)

Last year I started to sew this pattern with some fun stretchy polyester I had. But it literally was such a challenge to sew...
Oy the sleeves

I totally picked the wrong fabric. This year I tried to finish it but the sleeves did not even remotely fit the armholes, everything was askew.

Here is the fail... I stopped after this b/c I tried to "fix" but cutting the top of the sleeves down. Which then ruined my sleeves. Lesson learned. This was the wrong fabric to use. There is no easing polyester that is thick.

I know I normally post- look what I did sort of posts on Saturday but right now I am out on travel. There may be minor interruptions in the blog. My apologies. Will be back shortly!

Cheers,
Lauren

Bleach pants fail!

yeah I tried to bleach jeans white- easier said than done. I almost had it at the end but got antsy and added too much bleach and got holes. You have to soak jeans for many hours in order to bleach them. This took several days. The pictures say it all...

So much for reusing my jeans ( I have a lot now I don't wear them since I am not a grad student- I am trying to look more presentable) and make yellow pants. Oh well. Better luck next time.... :(

Gluten free trial #1 acorn squash soup

Warning this is a failure blog post. What I wound up with in the end was bland watery soup. It was boring and we didn't care for it! Cooked acorn squash...

Scooped out guts and put into my food processor to puree it, add chicken broth. 3/4 cup.

I tried using all purpose gluten free flour to thicken it up but it did not work. It actually never really dissolved and I sort of had lumpy soup.

The recipe called for some nutmeg, salt, half and half. But it was liquidy and so bland.

Project Fail! Well will try again and will maybe find a better recipe.

xoxoxo,
Lauren
