and it has a hole in the same place on the leg on both sides. Maybe someone's dog got a hold of it??? The overall bodice wasn't bad. I was not a fan of this color! Time to fix with RIT dye in navy blue!
Here is the end product. I did tack down some of the bodice so it wouldn't flap open. I love this dress. Simple and easy and cute.
Now the boyfriend loves this dress. It was nice and cool for the hot summer nights outside for an evening cookout. For more of my 60 days to DC blogging posts click here.

Super cute! I love the end result and it looked easy too!
I like the new length. Isn't refashioning fun??
Found you via Happy Go Lucky :)
Awesome refashions! I just found your blog, and I think you are completely amazing! I have a PhD too (mine is in Russian lit), and I also love to sew and have been known to belly dance too:) So glad I found your blog!
What an awesome refashion! I wouldn't have thought to dye it first. What a great idea :)
What a difference a new length makes! Now it's flirty and fun instead of drab. Love it! Thanks for sharing at last week's Shine on Fridays party! You were one of our top viewed links, so you'll be featured on One Artsy Mama tomorrow!
It cracks me up that maxi dresses are already a thrift store item. It seems like they just came back into fashion, and I just started liking them. LOL! Good job on the refashion. Such a simple fix, and no more mom dress!
